Company Philips have added a new model of home, office LCD displays with market name Brilliance which is considered
to be environment friendly and cheap. Display with 56-cm diagonal is equipped with a infra-red sensor which
detects people (PowerSensor) which switch on and off to standby mode (it drops the values of brightness and power) for lower energy consumption, when
the user is away from the computer. Distance away from the screen can be configured between 30 and 120
centimeters. When sensor detects the presence of a person it switches power back on.
New screen Philips Brilliance 22 can display images with resolution of 1680×1050 points
and have a response time of less than 5 milliseconds. It works with contrast 1000:1. For connection
there is available VGA and DVI connector. This LCD should save up to 50% of electric energy.
In Europe Philips Brilliance will cost around 230 euros.
