Company Intel will starts on 23rd of September selling a new marketing platform for portable computers
produced under the development code Calpella. The new platform will be built based on Intel mobile
circuit P55 and energy-saving processor with core Nehalem. This mobile processors will be
built by the help of 45-nano-meter technology and are equipped with advanced technology to save
valuable energy.
Although the new processors convert data with four cores this won't significantly affect the autonomy
of laptop functionality because the system will use up to 55 watts of electrical power.
In addition there will be function which will take care of switching off the cores which are not needed.
Since the new processor will have built in memory controller there will no longer be need
to use classic external FSB.
The most demanding tasks will be done by processor Core I7 920XM with frequency of 2.0 GHz
whicle the normal cheaper version Core I7 820QM with frequency of 1.73GHz and core I7-720QM
with 1.6GHz frequency. Weakest model will be 720 which will have only 6MB of L3 cache, however,
the enhanced version will use 8MB.
The retail price will be in USA 1.054$ a piece. Processor Core I7 820QM is almost half cheaper (546$)
and the weakest model will cost only 364$.
