Cheaper Nvidia Ion platform due to new GeForce 9400
While more and more manufacturers of personal computers, small laptops and other energy-saving devices
many are using Ion Nvidia platform. In the moment Nvidia is preparing new cheaper version. While
the current platform is equipped with the Ion GeForce 9400 video card, which provides a smooth display
of high-resolution film footage and is compatible with DirectX 10 and uses graphic interface Aero Glass
the new platform is equipped with a slightly weaker graphics drive, which will be compatible with older
DirectX 9 card.
Installing weaker graphics card makes the whole platform significantly cheaper which should consequently
decrease the retail price of compact personal computers, small laptops and other devices. The new platform
will also use Microsoft Windows XP, while Windows 7 Nvidia prepared Ion 2 platform on which we can run
even more graphically demanding computer games.
